What can I use the Boylesports new customer offer on this weekend?
This weekend sees Premier League action including Tottenham vs Liverpool plus a full EFL programme, the Howden Long Walk Hurdle from Ascot, NFL Week 16, plus Usyk vs Fury 2 Heavyweight Boxing from Saudi Arabia, all from Friday 20th December through till Monday 23rd December.
Saturday and Sunday sees Gameweek 17 of the Premier League season with 4 televised matches across TNT Sports and Sky Sports. The English league football starts on Friday night on Sky Sports featuring the EFL Championship at 8pm with Luton vs Derby County from Kenilworth Road. Luton’s home form has been immeasurably better than their away form of late and they’ll be hoping to secure an important three points against a Derby team who ran out 4-0 winners over Portsmouth last weekend.
The Premier League TV action starts on Saturday lunchtime with Aston Villa vs Manchester City from Villa Park (12:30pm kick-off). Manchester City are fifth in the Premier League, 9 points behind and Liverpool and have only won once in their last 11 matches in all competitions. Aston Villa are going well in Europe but have been hit and miss in the Premier League, although they have only lost to Arsenal at their Villa Park home all season. Later on Saturday sees Crystal Palace vs Arsenal from Selhurst Park on Sky Sports at 5:30pm. Palace are playing much better under Oliver Glasner and have pulled away from the relegation places, plus they only lost 3-2 at the Emirates in the Carabao Cup in midweek. Arsenal, 6 points behind Liverpool, cannot afford to make mistakes in their quest for the Premier League title. Arsenal’s record against Palace is good at Selhurst Park, winning 3 of the last 4 Premier League games.
Sunday 22nd December sees an early Scottish Premiership match on Sky Sports as Dundee United host Celtic at 12pm. Celtic are in their usual position at the top of the table with a 9-point lead and a game in hand. They travel to Dundee United having won the Scottish League Cup last week against Rangers, mindful of the fact they have not lost at Tannadice since 2014. That’s followed at 2pm on Sky Sports by Fulham vs Southampton from Craven Cottage. Fulham will be looking to inflict more pain on managerless Southampton who are rock bottom of the Premier League. Marco Silva will be looking for nothing less than 3 points to help power The Cottagers’ bid for European football next season.
The big Sunday Tottenham vs Liverpool match is live from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sky Sports Main Event at 4:30pm. Spurs, winless at home in the league since the 3rd November, thrashed Southampton last Sunday 5-0 at St Mary’s. Liverpool sit at the top of the Premier League and have only lost to Nottingham Forest this season in the Premier League. They also have a great record at the ‘new White Hart Lane’, winning 4 of their 6 visits to N17.
Monday 23rd December sees EFL League 1 action live on Sky Sports Football with an 8pm kick-off. Crawley Town vs Birmingham City is a true EFL David vs Goliath clash with the home team averaging 4,000 at home taking on a City side whose total transfer outlay this summer to be between £20m-£25m. Birmingham have won their last 4 league games whilst Crawley lost to Peterborough last Saturday 4-3.
EFL Championship, League 1 and League 2 are also in action this weekend with a number of these games available via Sky Sports+:
- Weekend Championship fixtures: Friday 20th December: Luton vs Derby; Saturday 21st December: Hull vs Swansea, Portsmouth vs Coventry, Sheffield Wednesday vs Stoke, Burnley vs Watford, Cardiff vs Sheffield United, Leeds vs Oxford, Millwall vs Blackburn, Plymouth vs Middlesbrough, QPR vs Preston, Sunderland vs Norwich; Sunday 22nd December: West Brom vs Bristol City.
- Weekend League 1 fixtures: Friday 20th December: Cambridge vs Huddersfield, Stockport vs Peterborough, Wycombe vs Bolton; Saturday 21st December: Bristol Rovers vs Wrexham, Lincoln vs Reading, Barnsley vs Leyton Orient, Blackpool vs Stevenage, Burton Albion vs Exeter, Mansfield vs Rotherham, Northampton vs Charlton, Wigan vs Shrewsbury; Monday 23rd December: Crawley vs Birmingham City.
- Weekend League 2 fixtures: Friday 20th December: Crewe vs Colchester, Gillingham vs Cheltenham; Saturday 21st December: Barrow vs Fleetwood, Doncaster vs Tranmere, Accrington Stanley vs Salford, Chesterfield vs AFC Wimbledon, Harrogate vs Walsall, Morecambe vs Bromley, Newport vs MK Dons, Notts County vs Bradford, Port Vale vs Carlisle, Swindon vs Grimsby.
Saturday night sees one of those rare and special nights that only top-level boxing can generate and especially Heavyweight World Championship boxing. The Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia hosts the hugely anticipated Heavyweight World Championship re-match between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury. Usyk won their first fight in May, out-boxing Fury down the stretch to remain unbeaten as a professional. Available on the PPV channel of your choice, this should be an absolute classic for the WBC, WBA, WBO and IBO belts. Daniel Dubois is the IBF World Champion. The undercard is also significant with plenty of other Heavyweight contests. Andrii Novytskyi vs Edgar Ramirez is for the WBC International heavyweight title. 10-0 Moses Itauma fights the experienced Australian Demsey McKean (22-1) in a step-up fight, plus unbeaten Johnny Fisher (12-0) will be well supported by his Essex fan base as he fights Sheffield’s Dave Allen (23-6-2).
NFL American Football Week 16 this weekend features action live on Sky Sports. Early Friday morning (UK-time) sees Sean Payton’s upwardly-mobile Denver Broncos (9-5) who are on a 4 game winning streak at divisional rivals Los Angeles Chargers (8-6) who were hammered by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 17-40 at their SoFi Stadium last week. With all to play for in the AFC West, this is sure to be some game.
Saturday 21st December features a couple of bonus games on Sky Sports. AFC South division leaders Houston Texans (9-5) face the trip of nightmares to the Arrowhead Stadium to play the Kansas City Chiefs (13-1). Then the Pittsburgh Steelers (10-4), who were heavily beaten last week in Philadelphia, travel to their divisional rivals the Baltimore Ravens (9-5) in what is a pivotal game for the AFC North Championship.
Sunday 22nd December then features 3 games: first up is the NFC East leading Philadelphia Eagles (12-2) who go for 11 straight wins at their divisional rivals the Washington Commanders (9-5). Next up are the Minnesota Vikings (12-2) fresh from there 30-12 mauling of the Chicago Bears, travelling to Lumen Field to face the Seattle Seahawks (8-6). The Seahawks were beaten at home by 17 points by the Green Bay Packers. Early Monday morning UK-time then features the trending Tampa Bay Buccaneers (8-6), top of NFC South and in the midst of a 4-game winning streak, travelling to play the limping Dallas Cowboys (6-8), who look certain to miss out on the play-offs.
The Monday Night NFL game (early Tuesday morning in the UK) sees the New Orleans Saints (5-9) travelling to the Green Bay Packers (10-4). A likely win for the Packers will sees Matt LaFleur’s team secure a play-off berth – the Packers are 5-2 on Monday Night Football since 2019.
ITV Racing is across our screens this Saturday with high-class National Hunt flat racing across Ascot and Haydock Park on ITV4 featuring 8 races. Big race of the weekend is the Grade 1 Howden Long Walk Hurdle from Ascot (2:25pm) over 3 miles. With £71,000 to the winner this is a recognised early season step towards Cheltenham’s Stayers’ Hurdle. Olly Murphy’s Strong Leader (Sean Bowen) is the favourite. Likeliest challengers look to be Crambo (Jonathan Burke) and Irish raiders The Wallpark and HiddenvalleyLake for Gordon Elliott and Henry de Bromhead respectively. Haydock Park is also on the menu and the big race is the 3 mile Tommy Whittle Handicap Chase with 9 runners declared. FamousBridge (Sean Quinlan) is the likely favourite for trainer Nicky Richards with East Street (Henry Brooke) and Frenchy Du Large (Ned Fox) likely challengers.
Weekend horse racing fixtures across the UK and Ireland are:
- Friday 20th December: Ascot, Dundalk (Flat), Southwell (Flat), Uttoxeter, Wolverhampton (Flat).
- Saturday 21st December: Ascot, Haydock Park, Hereford, Newcastle (Flat), Thurles, Wolverhampton (Flat).
- Sunday 22nd December: Fakenham, Lingfield (Flat).

CASE STUDY: WHY I SIGNED UP WITH BOYLESPORTS BY STEVE BAMFORD
Boylesports have become a serious online bookmaker in recent times to a point where they are now head-to-head with Paddy Power in Ireland and have a seriously expanded presence in the United Kingdom with a growing shop network to boot.
As with most new customers, I was attracted by Boylesports’ new customer offer at the time, which involved free bets after a qualifying bet had been placed. Once registered, the process was really easy, with the free bets arriving almost immediately after my qualifying bet had settled. You can’t really argue with that and I then had 7 days to use the free bets which again is more than satisfactory.
From a betting perspective I use Boylesports predominantly for golf betting where they excel. With golf I love placing each-way bets on players who have bigger odds. The sort who are say 40/1 and above, where I can generate a great each-way return, if they contend and place – if they win even better! So Boylesports are ideal as they specialise in providing additional each-way places.
Where a few online bookmakers only provide the traditional 5 places each-way or potentially 6 places each-way at 1/5 odds the place – Boylesports traditionally offer a default market with 8 places each-way at 1/5 odds on all full field tournaments across Majors and the main Tours. Plus with their Pick Your Place promotion, which is available on all main Tour events, I can choose to take slightly lower odds to receive up to 12 places each-way at 1/5 odds. This naturally maximises the chance of my player selections finishing in the places.
But don’t think that Boylesports just specialise in golf betting. To compete with their main rival Paddy Power, Boylesports have had to up their game across football and horse racing providing ongoing value promotions to generate player loyalty. It’s got to the point now, in my opinion, where they surpass Paddy Power with value-adds such as ACCA payout bonuses and masses of additional horse racing each-way places and much more.
Right now, I never place a bet without checking Boylesports first, be that with my football ACCAs and especially with my golf betting.

Boylesports Maximum Payout
Maximum payout ceilings are critical when selecting an online bookmaker to place bets with. Each and every bookmaker has daily payout limits within their terms of business. Some are extremely generous with others significantly lower and, be in no doubt, a bookmaker will not pay any winnings higher than their daily maximum payout ceiling. To add a level of complexity, those levels vary by sport and naturally can impact on large payouts, especially via accumulator bets.
From a maximum payout perspective, Boylesports are far better than many UK-facing online bookmakers when it comes to daily payout limits. Competitive on football, Boylesports right now are co-market leader in the golf market, which is a real focus sport for them with a growing number of active golf punters.
Here’s a summary of some key sports and Boylesports’ maximum payouts compared with some others in the market:
Sport | Boylesports Max Payout | Worst Max Payout |
---|---|---|
UEFA Champions League | £500,000 | £250,000, 888 Sport |
English Premier League | £500,000 | £250,000, 888 Sport |
UK Horse Racing | £500,000 | £100,000, Unibet |
PGA Tour Golf | £500,000 | £100,000, BetVictor |
ATP Tennis | £100,000 | £75,000, Unibet |
Darts | £100,000 | £25,000, Betfair Sportsbook |

Boylesports New Customer Offer Football – 2025 Season
With the 2025 Premier League season already more than a quarter of the way through, this year is setting up to be one of the most exciting in recent times with pre-season favourites Manchester City not having it all their own way by any means.
Having lost 4 games on the trot in all competitions before the November international break, Pep Guardiola’s men trailed Liverpool by 5 points before the superstars of each team headed off to their respective home countries’ training camps, meaning that The Reds had become clear favourites to halt City’s dominance of the EPL.
With the busy December period likely to provide pivotal to the chances of those teams with any aspirations of the title or European places, all eyes will be on the fixtures of City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal as they jostle for position in the league.
Surprise package Nottingham Forest are making a bold attempt to secure European football next season with striker Chris Wood firing on all cylinders this season, however there’ll undoubtedly be pressure from the likes of Spurs, Newcastle and Aston Villa as we head through the festive period,
And then there’s Manchester United to consider who’ll be looking for an instant improvement in their league position under new manager Ruben Amorim. The Red Devils have started the campaign poorly with key players simply underperforming, so it will fascinating to see if the forming Sporting CP boss can bring the best out of Rashford, Fernandes and the like.
The fight for the title and European football is fierce, however at the other end of the table there’s a titanic battle for Premier League survival.
Promoted sides Leicester, Ipswich and Southampton have all picked up their first wins of the campaign, but all three are still in a dogfight to retain their place at football’s top table in what may prove to be a mini-league of five with them, Wolves and Crystal Palace.
Boylesports will, as ever, have a multitude of outright and individual match markets available for betting upon as the action continues through the middle part of the season.
Gameweek 17 fixtures are as follows:
Saturday 21st December
- Aston Villa vs Manchester City
- Brentford vs Nottingham Forest
- Ipswich vs Newcastle
- West Ham vs Brighton
- Crystal Palace vs Arsenal
Sunday 22nd December
- Everton vs Chelsea
- Fulham vs Southampton
- Leicester vs Wolves
- Manchester United vs Bournemouth
- Tottenham Hotspur vs Liverpool
Boylesports History
Ireland is truly fanatical about betting. Horse Racing, both Flat and National Hunt is huge with punters just as passionate about the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool, Celtic and Rangers. The English Premier League, Scottish Premiership, Golf, Rugby Union, Darts as well as GAA Football and Hurling – undoubtedly Irish sports fans love their sport and they also love a bet. The Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland is therefore one of the most competitive sports betting markets on the globe. This is the perfect backdrop with which to study the rise of Boylesports as a major retail and online betting operator.
Established in 1992, Boylesports is now an established online player as well as being the leading Independent Bookmaker in Ireland – incorporating both the Republic and Northern Ireland. It’s also now recognised in the United Kingdom as well with various advertising campaigns and sponsorship driving a huge acceleration in active business.
Boylesports was first established in Newry, Northern Ireland in 1982 when John Boyle opened up the first betting shop. At the time Boyles’ father loaned him £6,000 to help buy the premises. But from these humble beginnings Boyle was astute at building the business organically, via retail expansion. By 1989, John opened a further 5 shops in Drogheda in the Republic of Ireland, and had a small retail chain with which he could build revenue levels. Boyle admits that expansion at this early stage was never planned – it just happened organically. 2002 saw a further 14 shops open.
John Boyle continued to head his organisation as it grew shop-by-shop throughout the noughties. Expansion was mainly through purchase of independent bookmaker shops with the odd-small chain thrown-in. Small Irish towns where the bookmaker was a local fulcrum of the community was exactly where Boylesports wanted to be. Shop numbers grew to 77 by mid-2004, a number that then reached the milestone of 100 stores within a further 18 months.
Re-wind to 2003, which was a further milestone for Boylesports as it opened a new HQ in Dundalk, moving it’s central function, which from the opening of that first shop in 1992, had always been in Drogheda. With a growing store network, phone betting and online website, a new Communications and Marketing Centre also opened in 2006.
By 2007 John Boyle had serious in-depth negotiations to sell the Retail side of Boylesports for €200 million. But Boylesports was, as it is still today a Private Limited Company and Boyle simply wasn’t prepared to sell his business. Taken from an Irish Independent article in 2014, John Boyle is quoted as saying about the decision not to sell; “I could go to the South of France and do nothing, but I like getting up and going to work. This is my toy. What was I going to do? I’d have a big cheque but nothing to do.”
The global financial crisis from 2007 onwards, and downturn in both the betting industry and the global economy in-general, offered Boyle the next opportunity to strategically expand the business. In February 2011, Celtic Bookmakers went bust along with 47 betting shops, with 250 employees. Boylesports bought 17 of those shops, taking on 65 employees, from the administrator, for just over €2 million. But 2011 also offered further opportunities for Irish expansion, as UK-based William Hill looked to move out of Ireland. John Boyle couldn’t believe his luck as 15 stores with a 2007 combined value of €15 million, were sold to him for €2 million. By 2014 the Irish market saw Paddy Power with 210 shops, Ladbrokes with 200 shops and Boylesports with 195.
2017 saw a fundamental change at Boylesports. John Boyle as CEO across the financial crisis, had always been looking at handing on day-to-day control of the family to the right person. So in June he handed over the reigns to son-in-law Conor Gray, with Boyle becoming Executive-Chairman and remaining the controlling shareholder.
Expansion has continued at pace, both online and in-retail. 2015 saw a new digital and marketing base open at Ocean Village, Gibraltar. Boylesports, Boylesports Casino, Poker and Bingo were established, across all platforms. But shop expansion has also continued. September 2018 marked the opening of their 250th shop in Kilcullen, County Kildare.
Even more historically, Boylesports now have a United Kingdom shop presence. Independent bookmaker Wilf Gilbert was purchased in the summer of 2019 for an undisclosed fee, with Boylesports now having a 13 shop footprint in the Midlands. Conor Gray has publicly stated that Boylesports will look to continue UK growth in the north of England, and naturally any further expansion will help to also grow the brand online as well. Watch this space.
2020 also saw a further milestone for the Dundalk-based bookmaker. A purchase of 33 shops in Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man from William Hill, has seen Boylesports become the biggest betting shop operator on the island of Ireland, with 298 stores. 39 of them are north of the border.
From a digital perspective Boylesports grows in-tandem with their retail footprint. That makes sense as their brand becomes more well known across both Ireland and now in the United Kingdom. Brand ambassadors such as Kevin Kilbane (Football) and Robbie Power (National Hunt) keep the brand visible across TV and Social Media. Sponsorship of PDC Darts and of Sunderland (in the Premier League) and Birmingham City (in the EFL Championship).
Visitor numbers have undoubtedly grown in-recent times to the Boylesports digital product range. With active user and visitor numbers suggesting that Boylesports are more than a match for well established brands such as Betfred and Coral. Their digital footprint also looks to be growing closer to their Irish compatriots Paddy Power, who have been the Irish No1 bookmaker historically.
